Poetry

In African most poetry is rehearsed unlike in Western countries where it is presented in written form. In an African context the poet dresses himself in a full African regalia which among includes a crown made up of Ostrich and Eagles feathers. He sometimes wears a hat knitted with fibers and a knobkerrie and shield made with a cow hides, all these are symbolic to our Africa culture.

This also in a way tells the types of animals found in the area and portrays an image that can be educative to most people around the area. It is important to remind the nation to stick to their culture and not to completely replace it with Western ones, said Ndlovu.
